Northern Film Orchestra – Large Scale Live Performance

I’ve worked with Northern Film Orchestra across multiple projects over a number of years now.

The scale shifts depending on the session. I’ve shot quartets through to 52 piece orchestras, often with clients flying in from the US or, more recently, South Korea. Sessions have included work with composer and producer Eric Turnnessen alongside brands such as Yoto.

Most shoots are based at The Stoller Hall in Manchester, with others at Halle St Peters and previously at AIR Studios in London.

For the Northern Film Orchestra, the audio recording often takes precedent, which means the filming integrates rather than leads. Check out the video for more insight on one of the larger sessions. Music composed by Jack Hughes of the Northern Film Orchestra team.

Depending on the scale I’ve led camera teams, operated within larger ones, or handled additional coverage alongside the main production. Deliverables range from full performance edits through to interviews, photography, BTS and social cutdowns. Often a mixture of them all.

Shout out to the wider team that help on these shoots too! Cam op Georgiana, Tom and Rach on the BTS, Martha-Rose on socials.

If you’re producing large scale live performance and need multi-camera coverage that integrates properly within a recording environment, feel free to get in touch. If you want to see more you’ll find more of my video production after the jump.
